We are very happy to announce the return of our USA page! Full coverage will return in the weeks and months to come, but our first clips are now online at www.tv-ark.org.uk. A live lottery drawing from February 1987, as shown on WPVI. The drawing was, and is, produced by the Lottery itself in Harrisburg, and airs on stations throughout Pennsylvania at exactly 6:58. This drawing features lavish production values atypical of other lotteries past and present. The most notable part of the drawing is the EXTREMELY catchy Pennsylvania Lottery jingle. The PA Lottery used this for years, replacing it with a new variant only recently, in 2003.

Even though I’m across the river, this brings back memories…always knew that once this came on, Jeopardy was never far behind.

It’s so weird hearing 1987, knowing that it was 22 years ago.

The music here is so much better than it is today.

Holy Shit this is old… I do have a question though, what is the name of the song that is played with the lotto drawing?

BTW I sent this video to long time WTAE anchor Sally Wiggin and she told me they do bring back a lot of memories for her.

  22. Julius121081on 23 Jul 2010 at 11:26 pm

The lottery made a huge mistake changing that theme in 2003.

  23. jeffisontheairon 23 Jul 2010 at 11:48 pm

I like this theme better. They changed it in 2003. BASTARDS!

Ah, the mid to late 80’s version of the PA lottery drawing. Still not as bad as the new 2008 version of the drawings.
